Cat's bench

There are a lot of cats in my neighborhood. The other day I came home and a cat was stuck in the tree next to my building. I tried to coax her towards coming down but was not successful. So I stayed out next to the tree for a while and little by little other cats joined me.  It was getting dark and their eyes were glowing. I counted 7 in total, and it was quite freaky.
This one was one of them and likes to sit on the bench opposite to my neighbor's kitchen window when the sun is out. It was the second time I doodled her/him, this time with my fine liner (which I am currently more comfortable with than pencil):

  2. That's one contented cat! Lovely picture. I like drawing with fineliner too - sometimes my drawings in pen have more of a confidence and style than pencil . Thanks for posting this - and hope the stuck cat unstuck itself!

    1. Thank you :-) Yes it did! Clawed its paws into the bark and did a half somersault, then jumped to the ground.

  3. I really like this drawing. By fine liner pen what do you mean? Is that the brand name? The type of pen? Can you post a photo of it? What ink are you using?

Glad to hear the cat got down from the tree.

    1. Hehe, I should know better to be specific about my materials.
I use a black edding 1800 profipen 0.1. It's black, it's thin and it's waterproof. It makes a fine line. ;-) I have read about pigma microns everywhere but I have not been able to get my hands on any around where I live, otherwise I'd quite likely be using those instead.

  4. What a charming little drawing! And, I bet it was a tad freaky with all those cats around you! I pictured them all looking up with you at the cat in the tree! lol nancy

    1. Thank you so much! I was thinking about doing another sketch about that situation. But then I decided against it, because it would be mostly black with 14 white spots scattered all over it.
